Whoa Energy

When I got asked if I’d like to write about my Zenergy journey, I wasn’t sure what direction to take it in. Maybe, because before Zenergy I had no direction when it came to working out.

Rewind 8 months: I NEVER worked out, and when I did I hated it. I would maybe once every 2 to 3 weeks force myself to go to LA Fitness and go on an elliptical for 30-35 minutes and then do a mediocre ab workout. As soon as I got there, I’d want to leave.  I was such a contradiction to my friend group being that most of my friends eat, sleep and breathe fitness, Lululemon and Salude.  Most work out every morning AND AGAIN after work. Meanwhile, I would be happy with myself if I worked out a couple of times a month.

It all changed when one of my best friends invited me to try Zenergy. I declined… but she persisted telling me they were community classes meaning it was free and afterward we would all go to Choolaah. Once the food was involved (ayooo) I agreed to go.

After my first ride, I was hooked. The dark room, the loud in your face music and WOAH the energy the instructors and the community brought into the room was unreal. I had never at this point in my life had such an amazing, fun time working out since I was in high school and played sports. Josh was the perfect combination of motivation, sass and the king of one liners. “You did that!”, “You have nothing to lose but a little bit of sweat!”, “Don’t come this far too only come this far!” – My thoughts: Did I just find my brand that is this cute, fun, loud spin instructor?? Answer: yes.

Fast forward to now: I just this past Saturday finished my 100th ride and rode double podium with the instructor that started it all. I work out at least 4-5 times a week and have never felt this strong or have been this invested in my fitness.

I never feel like I’m working out when I’m at Zenergy. I feel like I’m working on myself with people I love being around and sweating it out along the way. I have made such great friends with people who I know without Zenergy I would have never become friends with or even crossed paths, and now I can’t imagine my daily routine without them. Zenergy is so much more than a spin studio, it’s a community, and I couldn’t be more thankful to be a part of it.
